Organic Cotton Farming is Not Just Good for the Environment

In India, many conventional cotton farmers are stuck in a cycle of pesticide-dependent seed monopolies. They have to keep using seed that need pesticides, allowing companies to doubly profit off of cotton production. Not only are the crops pesticide dependent, the chemicals must be used very heavily — and most farmers spend their days spraying crops without any protective clothing.
